Mentorship – academic year 2012/2013

In order to improve the quality of study, it was decided that the Department of Physics establish a system of mentoring of students.
Each of the employees – department’s mentors joins with a number of students during their study.

A student is expected to visit his/her mentor at least once per semester (preferably more than once) and to have a discussion with him/her about:

  1. student’s problem during his/her study,
  2. student’s suggestions on improving the study (organisation of lectures, colloqia and exams, course content, literature etc.),
  3. student’s grades and dynamics of examination methods,
  4. choosing optional courses,
  5. plans upon graduation,
  6. and other matters.

Given the fact that the Department of Physics is just starting with the system of mentoring, any suggestion about complementing and improving described system is welcome.

Schedule of mentoring for students is provided in the document below.
